Young PNG sprinter Monica Korowi made a great start to her Collegiate Athletics career in the United states last weekend. Competing for her school ( Wm Carey University) at Kansas State University in Manhattan , Monica clocked very pleasing times of 7.86 seconds for the 60m dash and 42.27 for the 300m. “Though Monica started school in February this year, she wasn’t ready to compete at that time said Athletics PNG President so after consulting with us and her coaches, Monica decided to skip the 2021 season and prepare well for the 2022 season which is just getting underway now” .Monica was the 100m and 200m bronze medallist at the 2019 Oceania Under 18 championships in Townsville.
